Blanking Dies

Taught by Jayne Redman

Sept 29-30, 2007 from 9am - 4:30pm at Monnda Welch's studio in Pittsboro.

Cost: $150 for members (you must be a member to participate).  Add $20 to your fee to join NCSG.

Jayne shares the secrets of her production processes, including pattern making and blanking dies. One piece blanking dies allow precise duplicate shapes of silver, gold and other nonferrous sheet metal to be easily cut out. Learn how to design patterns for this process and methods of sawing dies from flat stock tool steel using basic shop tools. All skill levels welcome.

Jayne Redman is a professional jewelry designer whose work is exhibited in galleries across the country. She won the 1998 Niche Award for Silver Jewelry. Jayne was featured in AJM, Lapidary Journal and Ornament Magazine. She is widely respected for her innovative approach to the Keum-Boo process and design.
